Freedom of Expression.

The messenger.

In recent times we have been creating an environment of greater freedom of expression in respect of the physical, mental and emotional, and therein lies the test; the test of us individually and collectively.
With greater freedom comes greater responsibility.

About Ian Gardner

Ian Gardner was born on the 20th February 1934 in Sri Lanka, then Ceylon, and christened Basil Ian Gunewardene. He was born two months prematurely and nearly died five times in his first two months. He moved to Australia in September 1969 where he changed his surname to Gardner. From childhood, he had an enquiring mind and an innate interest in the supernatural. Since 1986, nineteen years of regular periods of meditation, "searching within", reading and revelations have culminated in this free book which has been nine years in the making. Further writings followed and all his writings are available to all on the Internet free of charge. There is more information in the preface of the book. February 2020. My search - my journey, is now complete.

    Freedom of expression, as in communication, is nice to have – neither necessary nor important.

    Freedom of expression, as in thought, is a matter of life and death!

    The responsibility, I would gather, is in the discipline that many prefer to call austerity. I believe, this responsibility is either there or not there. It is not a dynamic variant.

      “Dynamic” and “variant” being a references to variability what is a dynamic variant? Could you give me an example please?

        Please permit me to explain what I mean:

        I use the term dynamic variant to describe a function that changes its value in increments.

        A static variant is one that is either an absolute something or nothing. Like a toggle switch in a binary function.

        For responsibilty or personal discipline as a characteristic function, I do not consider the option of incremental change. It is either exists or does not, and has a fixed value.

        For example, a cognitive use of responsibility is often seen when elders forgive a child’s mistakes.

        Say, one child hurts another with a knife or a blade.

        Whether forgiven or not, this child has now learnt the result of it’s action.

        The child may be reminded of the action later, when it checks upon its responsibility. It might take a metaphysical decision that ‘this is alright’, or it might decide ‘this is dangerous’.

        In this process, there is dynamic involved. There is nothing like ‘I don’t know’ ‘I will think about it later’ ‘ may be a little of it is good’…

        The process accepts only a ‘ Yes’ or ‘No’… like an answer to a closed question..

        My 2 cents… I may be wrong…
